CV Alessandro Sidoti

 

Alessandro Sidoti, a graduate of the European School for Book Conservation in 1996, furthered his specialization in Restoration and Conservation of rare books and manuscripts at West Dean College (West Sussex, England) from 1996 to 1998. He then joined the National Library of Florence as a book conservator in 1999. Alessandro's extensive career includes teaching roles for the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, conducting international courses and seminars, focusing on storage techniques, library material exhibition, non-invasive restoration, and emergency salvage.


He co-authored the disaster plan of the National Library of Florence with Gisella Guasti. Since 2018, he has served as a teacher at the School of Conservation of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure. In 2022, he assumed the role of Head of Conservation Workshop at the  National Library of Florence. Alessandro has also been actively engaged as a speaker in national and international conferences and contributed papers to specialist journals. Additionally, he holds the position of National Secretary at the Italian Association of Library and Archives Conservators (Aicrab).
